What is an infant travel system? A travel system,
also known as a “3 in 1 system,” is an infant car seat and stroller that are
matched together. The seat unit has a detachable base that latches securely to a
matching base in the car, or on a stroller. That way you can simply remove the
seat from the stroller and place it in the car, without removing the child
inside.
Infant travel systems can be more expensive than buying a car seat and stroller
separately, but they do offer several advantages. Those include:
It’s simple and easy to transfer your baby
from stroller to car, or vice versa, without having to unfasten the straps
and safety harness.
Buying the complete system makes shopping for
these items simplier and more convenient.
Travel systems, while more expensive, are
usually sturdier and have more features than their separate counterparts.
Some systems - like the Baby Orbit system -
allow the seat in the stroller to swivel 180 degrees.
The matching components of the system are color-coordinated.
As you can see, infant travel systems are a new and innovative approach to
transporting your baby in safety and style. And while they may cost more, the
added safety and convenience of a travel system usually makes them a smart
investment.
