Baby strollers have evolved over the years, and modern strollers are constructed from strong, lightweight materials and have a variety of features, from shock absorbers to adjustable handlebars to parking breaks.
Needless to say, these aren't the simple baby carriages or "buggies" that your mother would have used 40 years ago. Times have changed, and the modes of transportation for our children have changed right along with it.
Modern strollers have many improvements over their larger and
bulkier predecessors. These new models are lighter yet still quite strong, with
sturdy alloy frames and nylon wheels. Some even have shock absorbers for a
smoother ride. Most also have comfortably padded seats, wide canopies,
adjustable three or five-point harnesses, and locking mechanism that prevent the
stroller from accidentally collapsing.
In addition to a variety of features, today's baby strollers
also come in several types, depending on the users needs. There are jogging
strollers for parents who want to stay in shape while transporting their child.
There are double strollers that will transport those twins in style. There are
even all terrain strollers for parents who want to take their children off the
paved sidewalks and into the wild outdoors.
